About Konstantine

Hailing from Peterborough, Ontario Konstantine Malakos is a dedicated advocate, seasoned performer, and creative storyteller. With a profound commitment to effecting positive change and a lifelong love for the arts, he has embarked on a multifaceted journey that seamlessly blends politics, theater, and media.

Having been a two-time federal NDP candidate in the rural riding of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, Konstantine has consistently worked towards making a significant impact on the community, championing values that are close to his heart.

Starting with “Stripes for Christmas” at the Peterborough Theatre Guild from early childhood, Konstantine found solace and inspiration in the realm of theater. This passion brought him to the Atlantic Theater Company Acting Conservatory where he was fortunate enough to be able to hone his craft as a performer under the tutelage of some incredible teachers and working artists.

Theater has always been Konstantine’s sanctuary—a space for exploration of the human experience.

While in New York City, Konstantine served as a segment producer, field correspondent and interviewer on “Out at the Centre.” This show celebrated diversity and the LGBTQ+ community, providing him with invaluable insights into the power of storytelling. During his years in New York Konstantine was also involved in getting two theatre companies off the ground, the first, a collaboration with some of his acting school classmates Group B managed to put on two off-off broadway shows. The second was a solo venture for which he served as artistic director. Loose Marbles Productions mounted “Here Lies Henry” by Daniel MacIvor and Daniel Brooks at the Arthur Seelen Theatre off Times Square. Konstantine starred in this production.

Recently though it has become increasingly apparent to Konstantine that the creation of stories is at the heart of his creative drive. As a screenwriter and director, he is currently developing a new project he looks forward to being able to share more about soon. His writing sets out to passionately craft narratives that touch hearts, challenge perspectives, and ignite change. Konstantine deeply believes that art should serve as a catalyst for social change, challenging the status quo and provoking questions that lead to a more inclusive and just world.
